Dodgeball Tournaments - 22nd-23rd January 2024

Six children from Key Stage 1 and 14 children from Key Stage 2 represented Ashgate at an after school Dodgeball tournament hosted by RS Coaching at Derby Arena. All the teams played really well together, showed great dodgeball skill and amazing sportsmanship. The Y5/6 team came 4th in the UKS2 tournament, Y3/4 came 3rd in the LKS2 tournament and Y1/2 came 1st in the KS1 tournament. Congratulations to all the players!  Click here to view photos.

Y5/6 Football Tournament - 18.10.23

Six children from UKS2 represented Ashgate at an after school football tournament hosted by RS Coaching at Ashgate School. The team played really well together and made some great saves. Huge thank you to Mr Singh who coached the team for the event.

KS1 Football Tournament - 4.10.23

Six children from Key Stage 1 represented Ashgate at an after school football tournament hosted by RS Coaching at Ashgate School. The team played really well together, scored some amazing goals and made some great saves. Overall Ashgate came third out five. Y3/4 Brownlee Foundation Mini Triathlon - 8th July 2022

14 children from years 3 & 4 took part in a mini triathlon organised by the Browlee Foundation. The event took place at Moorways Sports Village. Children swam 50m, cycled 800m and ran 300m. Click here to view photos from the day. 

KS2 Wimbledon Mini Tennis - 29th June 2022

30 KS2 children attended a Mini Tennis Festival to celebrate Wimbledon 2022. They practised lots of tennis shots and skills and played mini matches against each other.  Click here to view photos from the day. 

Y3/4 Commonwealth Games MegaFest - 22nd June 2022

15 Y3/4 children attended a Commonwealth Games theme festival at Moorways. They took part in an opening ceremony, various games and athletics events. All the children who took part did extremely well. Tzipporah achieved a bronze medal position in the 300m race. Y5/6 Grass Track Cycling Tournament - 21st June 2022

6 children attended a Grass Track Cycling tournament hosted by DCCT and Cycle Derby. After their success in the tournament in March, the same children attended to defend their silver position.  They were successful in retaining the Silver position. Y5 Commonwealth Games MegaFest - 15th June 2022

15 Y5 children attended a Commonwealth Games theme festival at Moorways. They took part in an opening ceremony, various games and athletics events. All the children who took part did extremely well. They achieved some podium positions including a Gold Medal (virtual) by Beulah. They were competing against mainly Year 6 children and for the track events were given Lane 6 without a staggered start, so had to run farther. Well done!  Click here to view photos from the day. 

Y1/2 Commonwealth Games MegaFest - 25th June 2022

15 children from key stage 1 attended a Commonwealth Games Megafest at Derby Tennis Centre. They took part in a range of athletics games. All the children had a great time and did Ashgate proud. 

Y5/6 Kwik Cricket Tournament - 26th May 2022

After taking part in the Kwik Cricket after school club, 9 children in Y5/6 were selected to represent Ashgate at a Kwik Cricket tournament. The team played a number of matches and did themselves proud. Well done!  Click here to view photos from the day. 

Y1/2 Active Play through Story Telling - 10th May 2022

Y3/4 Fitness is Fun MegaFest - 4th May 2022

12 children attended the Fitness MegaFest hosted by DCCT. The children took part in several activites aimed at improving fitness in a fun way. Everyone had a great time and we're very pleased with the trophy they won.  Click here to view a photo from the day.

Y5/6 Grass Track Cycling Tournament - 5th April 2022

6 children attended a Grass Track Cycling tournament hosted by DCCT and Cycle Derby. The children took part in several races and worked incredibly well as a team; cycling and supporting. Ashgate finished in Silver position. Well done Team Ashgate!  Click here to view a photo from the day.

Y5/6 Dodgeball Tournament - 22nd March 2022

Ashgate's Dodgeball team competed in a tournament run by British Dodgeball. 10 teams competed in the tournament and Ashgate finished an AMAZING 5th overall. EYFS/Y1 Fundamentals MegaFest - 2nd March

Miss Warburton and Mr Odell took 14 EYFS/Y1 children to Derby Tennis Centre to try out some different games to develop their fundamental PE skills. Click here to view a photo from the day.

EFL Kids Cup - 12th January 2022

8 boys from our football team represented Ashgate at the EFL Kids Cup football tournament. The team played several matches and came fourth overall in their group. The boys showed great sportsmanship in victory and defeat; they did themselves and Ashgate proud. Well done boys! Click here to view the team photo. 

Year 1/2 Christmas Megafest - 15th December 2021

11 of our Y1/2 pupils got themselves into the Christmas spirit at the Christmas Megafest hosted by DCCT. Children played a variety of Christmas themed games and received a special visit from Santa. Click here to view a photo from the day. 

Year 3/4 Invasion Games Megafest - 17th November 2021

13 year 3/4 pupils attended an invasion games megafestival event hosted by DCCT. The children had the opportunity to play dodgeball, handball and football plus lots of mini games. All the children demonstrated fantastic teamwork and great sportsmanship.  Click here to view photos from the event. 

Year 5/6 Army Team Building - 20th October 2021
