Pupils at Ashgate Primary School were today visited by Nottingham University’s Robotics department as part of the school’s Science, Technology and Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) studies.
Pupils in Year 1 and 2 saw Spot in action, demonstrating its manoeuvrability skills and capabilities, with some children being given the opportunity to directly control Spot and explore how he works through a variety of cameras and sensors. The robot, which has multiple real life functions including application as a search and rescue device, was put through its paces, climbing stairs, moving at pace, crouching and even self-correcting when knocked over.
