Early Years children have this week taken part in our first 'in house' Balancability Training', led by myself and Mrs Haines.
This is one part of our 'Every Child A Rider' programme, established last year to address the need to increase physical wellbeing of pupils by ensuring that ALL children in the school can ride a bicycle.
The staff training for this programme and the bicycles used were purchased though the School Sports Funding initiative; the idea being that the school can sustain the programme by having qualified staff and all the resources needed without relying on outside agencies.
On a personal note, I must add that I had a great time (as did the children!). Working with the EYFS children is a delightful experience and it was great to see them engage so enthusiastically, even those who found it a real challenge.
