Year 3/4

Year 3/4 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Conkers. They learnt about the various animals that can be found around the world and their habitats whilst exploring the Interactive Hall and Exhibits in the Discovery Centre. Most children ventured in to the Barefoot Walk which entailed walking through mud and water and over stones, gravel and bark chippings. We then walked to the fairy labyrinth and found our way out of the maze to climb the central tower. After lunch, we took the train to the Waterside Centre where the children had great fun at the Playdale Adventure Park on the zip wire, swings, slide and climbing frame. Our final adventure for the day was to meet up with the ranger who took us on a bug hunt over the wobbly bridge where the children found various bugs and insects in natural and man-made habitats. The children ended the session with building bug houses from natural resources found in the area. A great day was had by all!

The Blackbirds class completed their final Foresters Award Session. They designed their own forests on paper then went to the field to make a miniature version of their design. The children then worked together as a team to answer ten questions about what they have learnt during the sessions which led to them all becoming Junior Foresters! They will all receive a certificate for their award shortly.

Christmas Party time!

Mrs Morey's Class have made some fantastic woolly mammoths to start their Stone Age topic!

Year 3/4 had a marvellous day learning all about the Maya! They learnt how chocolate is made, created their own chocolate products, made salsa and churros, tasted fruits and guacamole, and made some amazing headdresses!
