Welcome
As Co Heads, it is our pleasure to welcome you all to the website of Ashgate Primary School.
This site aims to present parents, carers, pupils, governors and guests with up-to-date information about the school, events and activities. In addition, resources are available to support pupil learning, including homework timetables, links to websites, educationally focused games and activities that will promote learning.
The School
The school is a vibrant and exciting place to work and learn, catering for the pupils of Ashbourne Road (Derby) district. We are a co-educational primary school, ranging in pupil age from 4 – 11 years old. Our policies and practices are informed by Derby City Council and are ratified by our board of Governors. The governing body represents the Local Authority, local community, parents and staff.
We endeavour to ensure that pupils are both engaged and challenged in their learning, using a wide variety of teaching strategies, skills and up-to-date learning resources. We cater for those who require additional support in academic, social and physical areas; always placing the child at the centre of every decision made. We strive to ensure that pupils enjoy their time at school and access an effervescent curriculum that is both relevant and purposeful.
We, the staff and Governing Body of Ashgate Primary School, are passionate in our belief that school should be about much more than just academic achievement. Thanks to our strong links with the Local Authority / nursery schools, our dedicated staff, as well as our embedded pastoral care systems and drive to always better ourselves, we work together to ‘unlock potential’ in the ‘whole child’. We see it as our duty to prepare the next generation for their role in the society of modern day Britain and beyond. We strive to recognize achievement in all areas and not simply those that can be measured by charts, graphs and tables.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to leave comments in the Guestbook, or contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
Thank you for visiting!
