Dear Parents and Carers,
Due to the significant snowfall overnight and current weather conditions, we have made the decision to implement a delayed start today. School will open for all pupils at 11:00am.
Whilst there has been a heavy accumulation of snow, rain is forecast throughout the morning. We anticipate that this rain will help to clear local access and make the school site safer for arrival.
By delaying the start until 11:00am, we expect:
Safer Access: Pathways and school entrances will be clearer for those on foot.
Improved Road Conditions: Main roads and transport routes are expected to be significantly clearer and better treated by mid-morning.
Travel Safety: We recognise that conditions can vary greatly depending on your specific location. Please remember that only parents can assess whether it is safe for them to travel from their particular area. Please prioritise your own safety when making this decision.
Clothing: Please ensure children are dressed appropriately for the weather, including sturdy, waterproof footwear and warm coats.
